Cookie Policy

The short version: three strictly-necessary cookies and a few notes in your browser's localStorage. Google Analytics runs only if you accept it in the cookie banner. No ad pixels, no advertising trackers.

1. What the site needs, and one thing you choose

Most of what Hausjam keeps on your device — three small cookies and a few notes in your browser's localStorage — exists only to keep you signed in and to remember choices you made. That is the kind of storage the law treats as strictly necessary, so it needs no consent.

The one optional extra is Google Analytics, which tells us how many people visit and which pages they use. It runs only if you click “Accept” in the cookie banner. Until you do — or if you click “Reject” — your browser does not even download it. No ad pixels, no fingerprinting, no tracking for advertising.

Everything is listed below. If that ever changes, this page changes first — and we will tell you, not just edit it quietly.

2. Cookies

Cookies are sent to our servers with each page you load, which is how the server knows you are signed in and which language and mode to render. None of them identify you to anyone but us.

NameWhat it remembersKept until
vendure-auth-tokenThat you are signed in (set only when you sign in; your browser's scripts can't read it)You sign out, or 7 days pass
hj-themeWhether you prefer light or dark mode, so the page loads in it without a flashYou change it, or a year passes
NEXT_LOCALEWhich language to show youYou close your browser

3. localStorage

localStorage is a small notepad inside your own browser. Unlike cookies, what is written there is not sent to our servers— or to anyone else's — with your page visits. It stays on your device, and you can wipe it anytime from your browser settings (doing so simply forgets your preferences).

That is the complete inventory — there are no other keys, and none of these contain your photos, your designs, or anything anyone could trace back to you.

4. Session replay (only with your consent)

If you accept session replay, our error-monitoring service Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., EU data region) records an anonymised replay of your visit — mouse movement, clicks, scrolling and page changes. All text, form fields and images or video are masked before they leave your browser, so what you type or read is never captured. We use replays only to find confusing screens and fix bugs, never for advertising. We keep them for 90 days.

It stores no cookie; your choice is kept in the hj-consent entry above. You can change your mind at any time from Cookie settings at the bottom of every page; withdrawing stops recording straight away.

5. Analytics (only with your consent)

If you accept analytics, our pages load Google Analytics 4, run by Google Ireland Limited. It records which pages you view, roughly where you are (country and city, from your IP address, which Google does not store), your device and browser type, and how you arrived. We use it only in aggregate — to see what people use and what to improve — and have switched off Google's advertising features: no Google signals, no ad personalisation, no sharing for ads. We keep the detailed data for 2 months.

It sets these cookies on our domain:

NameWhat it remembersKept until
_gaA random id that lets Google Analytics count you as one visitor across pages and visitsYou withdraw consent, or 2 years pass
_ga_MN7ERL4KVPWhich visit (session) you are in, so page views can be grouped into visitsYou withdraw consent, or 2 years pass

You can change your mind at any time from Cookie settingsat the bottom of every page. Withdrawing consent stops Google Analytics straight away and deletes these cookies. Google may process the data in the United States; see “Where your data lives” in the Privacy Policy.

6. Payments and Google sign-in

Our payment provider — Paddle or Kelviq, whichever is the merchant of record for your plan — loads only when you click to pay or manage your plan. From then on its checkout may set the cookies that payment processing and fraud prevention require, and — if you are signed in — it uses a customer id (never your email) to handle failed payments and renewals. Those live under the provider's own policy, linked from the checkout.

Likewise, “Continue with Google” opens Google's own sign-in window only when you click it, under Google's policy.

More on what we do (and pointedly don't do) with your data is in the Privacy Policy.
